Tubingen does not have a university, it is a university. The picturesque historical town center and its attractive position of the Neckar River offer a high quality of life whether you are studying, working, or taking a break. Located in Baden-Wuerttemberg, a southern German region with strong European traditions, Tubingen is close to Strasbourg, France, seat of the European Parliament, and equally close to Frankfurt, seat of the European Central Bank. Stuttgart airport nearby serves many international destinations, putting Tubingen just a stone's throw away from cities in Europe like Paris, London and Barcelona.
Stuttgart, the capital of Baden-Wuerttemberg, can be reached in just 30 minutes by train. With over 5 million inhabitants, the Stuttgart Metropolitan Region is one of the biggest in Germany. Home to companies such as Bosch, Daimler and Porsche, it has been a center of technological innovation for over a century. Stuttgart has very good rail connections, putting it just a few hours away from Munich, Berlin and Hamburg.
University of Tuebingen offers a 'Start Course,' which is a three-week intensive German language course taking place prior to the beginning of each semester. The course, including course materials and excursions, costs 300 Euros. As this program is run on a fee-paying basis, it may not be included as part of the exchange semester full-load.
Exchange Students at Eberhard-Karls University are eligible to apply for the Baden-Württemberg Stipendium. The monthly installment is usually a minimum of 500 €/month.
The minimum duration of the fellowship is four months, the maximum duration is ten months.
If you are allocated to Eberhard-Karls University, please contact the Global Learning Office for more information about how to apply for this exciting scholarship opportunity.
